Peter and Gary have left My Kitchen Rules.

Queensland lawyer Peter and doctor Gary, who was nicknamed "Dr Evil" by his fellow contestants, were eliminated from the Seven Network cooking show after a sudden death cook-off against sisters Carly and Emily.

The siblings received a score of 51 out of 60 for their three course menu of dumplings, rockling and black rice pudding, compared to 17 points for Peter and Gary's soup, kangaroo stroganoff and custard tartlets.

During the episode, the male duo described Carly and Emily as their "worst enemies", but after their defeat they admitted that the "best team won" and described their rivals as "great cooks".

Although judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel criticised Peter and Gary's cooking, they praised them for the "intelligence, humour and honesty" that they had brought to the competition.

After their elimination, Gary said: "It's been a roller coaster. Ups and downs. We came for an adventure and we got one."

Last week, Perth scientists Emma and Andrew were eliminated from the show.
