The actors will play multiple parts in Anees Bazmee's No Entry Mein Entry, reports Mumbai Mirror.
"At this point, 60% of the script is complete. In about the next three weeks, the director will finalise the female leads in the film," a source revealed.
Salman had previously played multiple roles in a film 14 years ago.
"While Anil has played a double role in the past in Rakesh Roshan's Kishen Kanhaiya, this will be Fardeen's first time taking on two characters for a film," added the source.
Bazmee's ensemble comedy was one of the biggest commercial hits of the year when it released in 2005.
The original film also featured stars Bipasha Basu, Celina Jaitley, Lara Dutta and Esha Deol.
Multiple roles within one film are considered a classic trope of Indian cinema.
