The actress will next be seen making her Hollywood debut opposite Josh Hartnett in Singularity.
Basu told DNA India: "The differences between Hollywood and Bollywood are purely technical. That's mostly because the budgets there are huge, and the scale is larger.
"But at the end of the day it's all about a bunch of people working passionately for their film. That love for the art and craft of films and filmmaking is common, whether it's Hollywood, Bollywood or regional cinema."
Basu added: "I don't think language can be a barrier for any actor if they want to do a role they like. As long as the role interests me, I am all for it."
The Players star added that rumors of a romance between her and co-star Hartnett were false.
In April last year, it was suggested that the alleged romance was a publicity stunt for the period film.
Basu is reportedly planning to do an item number in John Abraham's next film.
