Shah Rukh Khan's My Name Is Khan has had its UK television premiere.

The film became a trending topic on Twitter following the Channel 4 screening.

"Director Karan Johar's fourth movie is an ambitious family drama set in America," stated the Channel 4 website.

The UK DVD release of the terrorism-themed project states: "My Name Is Khan is an epic film... a must watch."

The film was still running in some territories in 2012, two years after its theatrical release.

My Name Is Khan was released on February 12, 2010. The movie starred Bollywood icon Khan as an autistic man who, in the aftermath of 9/11, travels across America to win back his wife Mandira (Kajol).

Other films to screen as part of the channel's Indian film season include Salman Khan's Dabangg, Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma starrer Band Baaja Baaraat, and Disney's first Hindi film Do Dooni Chaar.

The festival also included less commercial releases including Road, Movie and Udaan.
