The actress will next be seen playing a journalist in director Shirish Kunder's movie.
She told Mid Day: "As a little kid, I used to stand in front of the mirror and practise taking interviews and used to report activities happening around. I really love the thought of going on the field and reporting.
"Luck had something else in store for me. Finally, when Shirish came to me with this role, I was overwhelmed and grabbed the opportunity instantly.
"Thinking of being a journalist and actually playing one is like the two sides of the same coin. It's not as easy as it looks."
Joker, which co-stars Akshay Kumar, tells the story of a fictional village in India which is forgotten during the partition of India and Pakistan.
In August 2011, the actress claimed that she was told to stay away from a "cultural event" in New York by a mysterious caller.
Lamba once revealed that she was only eating one meal a day to lose weight before appearing on the red carpet at Cannes.
