The actress can currently be seen opposite Emraan Hashmi in the erotic thriller Raaz 3.
She told Mid Day: "I never belonged to any camp nor worked with any Khan in the 12 years of my acting career. So it is a big achievement that a film that was completely resting on my shoulders has managed to rake in Rs 40 crore in its first week. "
Basu, 33, has yet to work with Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan or Aamir Khan, the three highest-earning stars in the industry.
She recently expressed annoyance at how critics focus on her appearance instead of her acting.
"I think you can always look glamorous. However, I am tired of being given tags that I am sexy or that people find me hot. I wanted to showcase my acting skills and I think I have fairly managed to do it," she said.
However, she admitted last week that she appreciates being called a "bombshell".
In August, the star revealed it was hard to kickstart her career again following her split with long-term boyfriend John Abraham.
