'The Apprentice': Katie Wright dresses as giant pizza for bus pitch

By
Apprentice candidates Katie Wright, Stephen Brady and Azhar Siddique are left red-faced in this week's street food task when they dress up for a bus tour pitch - and fail to get any customers.

The trio secure a deal with a company in Edinburgh to promote Phoenix's 'Utterly Delicious Meatballs' stall to bus riders every 15 minutes.

Wright, dressed as a giant pizza, tells her teammates: "We're going to do such a good job at doing that little pitch on there."

However, the sub-team's attempt at humour fails to inspire tourists to step off the bus and indulge in their low-quality pasta dish.

"What food do you think I might be bringing to you?" Wright asks, as her audience points out that she is dressed as a pizza. "No actually, you have to think outside the pizza box in this one. It's actually meatballs."

To make matters worse, the candidates then miss their next bus, prompting project manager Adam Corbally to fume: "I think they've messed up on this pitch... they've literally missed the bus on this and I'm gutted. We've got the gear and no customers."

Sterling, meanwhile, are led by Jenna Whittingham and try their hand at selling gourmet beef casserole.

The Apprentice airs tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
