Maroon 5
Maroon 5 are an American pop/rock group made up of lead singer Adam Levine as well as Jesse Carmichael, Micky Madden, James Valentine and Matt Flynn.
The group formed in high school under the name Kara's Flowers. Their first album 'Songs About Jane' was released in 2002. The second single off the album 'This Love' became their first internationally successful single reaching number five in the US and number three in the UK charts.
In later years the musical style of Maroon 5 has moved closer to pop/rock with the release of singles such as 'Moves Like Jagger' and 'Payphone'. Both singles have given the group massive success.
The group's profile has been boosted recently by Adam Levine's involvement with the US show The Voice. The group released their most recent album 'Overexposed' in June 2012.
