Take That

Take That - a band comprising of Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange - formed in 1990 and soon became a national phenomenon, securing a fanatical fanbase and shifting over 25 million records between 1991 and their split in 1996, a separation accelerated by William's high-profile departure in July 1995. However, in November 2005 the four piece band announced details of a special reunion tour and afterwards reappeared on the music scene with chart-topping comeback track 'Patience'. After six top 40 singles and album sales of almost six million, the reconstituted band officially confirmed in July 2010 that original member Robbie Williams would be making his return. The long-awaited announcement resulted in a 2011 tour, which became the biggest concert series in UK history after selling one million tickets in just eight hours, and, with Progress, the fastest selling album of the century.
