The winners of the 2011 Glyph Awards have been announced.

Recognising the best in comics made by, for, and about people of colour in 2010, the awards were presented at the East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention in Philadelphia.

Geoffrey Canada and Jamar Nicholas's Fist Stick Knife Gun was named 'Story of the Year'. The book's star Geoff - a character based on the author - was declared 'Best Male Character', and Nicholas took the 'Rising Star' award.

Vertigo's Unknown Soldier received two awards - 'Best Writer' for scribe Joshua Dysart and 'Best Cover' by Dave Johnson for issue #15. The title was cancelled last year.

Unknown Soldier won in the 'Story of the Year' category in 2010. It led the nominations this year, appearing in the shortlists for six categories.

Keith Knight's The K Chronicles was named 'Best Comic Strip or Webcomic' for the fifth year in a row.
