'Batman: The Dark Knight Returns' first clip debuts - watch

The first clip from Batman: The Dark Knight Returns - Part One has debuted.

Warner Animation has offered a look at its adaptation of the Frank Miller classic.



The video shows a pair of cops engaged in a chase when they encounter the newly returned Batman.

The film recreates the Miller-illustrated cover of the Dark Knight's silhouette leaping with a flash of lightning striking in the background.

The Dark Knight Returns is based on the classic four-part DC Comics miniseries that saw an older Bruce Wayne returning from retirement.

A trailer for the first instalment of the two-part adaptation debuted last month.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns - Part One will debut on Blu-ray and DVD on October 23 in the US. A UK release date is yet to be confirmed.
