Charlie Sheen pranked into signing for 'The Artist 2' - listen

By
Canadian radio comedians have tricked Charlie Sheen into agreeing to star in The Artist 2 by pretending to be French actor Jean Dujardin.

The recording of their phone call, broadcast on a French-Language radio station in Quebec, is available to listen to below.

With an exaggerated French accent, the DJ rang Sheen's agent claiming to be the Oscar-winning star of the silent film.

After being transferred to the former Two and a Half Men actor, 'Jean' proclaimed: "I love you, Charlie! You have great talent.

"The funniest thing is that I was thinking about you while winning. Winning winning winning!" he said in reference to his Oscar win and Sheen's famous catchphrase.

He then offered him a role in a sequel to The Artist which Sheen gladly accepted.

Charlie Sheen is the latest in a string of celebrities to have been tricked by the Montreal comedy duo The Masked Avengers. Britney Spears, Bono, Bill Gates and Sarah Palin have also been pranked by the pair.

Marc-Antoine Audette, who pretended to be Dujardin in the phone call, told The Canadian Press: "We thought, 'Why not take the identity of Jean Dujardin, who just won an Oscar, who is one of the hottest guys in Hollywood right now, and see how Charlie Sheen would react?'"
