Kinect Star Wars has seen a new Rancor mode unveiled at gamescom 2011.

Controlling the large carnivorous beast using the hands-free controller, the time-based mode has players destroy buildings, such as the desert huts of Tatooine, for a high score.

Player motions include a charge initiated by swinging both arms forward, while buildings can be toppled by smashing both arms into the ground.

Nearby civilians and enemies can also be picked up and thrown, or 'munched' on by moving their arm towards their mouth.

As the clock counts down, players can accumulate more points by completing ongoing side objectives, such as destroying a number of buildings, or through destroying more objects and accumulating a multiplier.

The Rancor joins Jedi and Podracing as some of the modes coming to Kinect Star Wars.

Microsoft has confirmed to Digital Spy that it will unveil more modes for the title in the coming months.

Kinect Star Wars will be available exclusively on Xbox 360 by the end of the year.
