Square Enix has announced that Quantum Conundrum will launch this summer.

Though an exact date was not given, the publisher confirmed the title for release in both Europe and North America in summer 2012.

The first-person puzzle game is being developed by Airtight Games, led by Portal co-creator Kim Swift.

Players will assume the role of a child visiting their eccentric uncle Fitz Quadwrangle, who has gone missing in his large manor and laboratory.

A special glove can be used to shift the world through different dimensions to solve puzzles and advance through the game to find the lost professor. Examples include a 'slow motion' dimension, and a 'fluffy' dimension that makes all objects lighter and easier to move.

Quantum Conundrum will be available for Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC.
