Characters include Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter, Jin and Ling Xiaoyu from Tekken and Ulala from Space Channel 5.

The collaboration was announced in February via a teaser site depicting the company logos. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata subsequently said that the game would be "impossible to predict".

Capcom and Namco Bandai previously worked together on the Japan-exclusive PlayStation 2 role-playing game Namco X Capcom and have just released crossover fighting game Street Fighter X Tekken.

Banpresto, a subsidiary of Namco Bandai, is thought to be developing the game. The studio is best known for role-playing games such as the Super Robot Wars series.

It is not yet known when the game will launch and whether it will be released outside of Japan. A trailer is expected to debut later this month.
