'Super Mario' Wii U reveal at E3 gaming expo, says Shigeru Miyamoto

Super Mario on Wii U will be unveiled at the E3 gaming expo, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed.

The series creator told Spanish newspaper El Mundo (via NeoGAF) that the game combines the TV screen and tablet screen and will be on show during the annual video game event in Los Angeles.

Miyamoto also revealed that he is preparing for when he retires, assigning more responsibility to the younger generation of Nintendo employees, and that he is currently concentrating on Pikmin 3 and Luigi's Mansion.

More surprisingly, he expressed a desire to do more with the Wii Music franchise, despite poor sales of the original.

The news comes less than a week after it was revealed that Nintendo has registered a website domain for Super Mario 4.

Earlier this year, the firm announced that it is currently developing a new 2D Mario game for the Nintendo 3DS that could become Super Mario 4.

Nintendo released Super Mario 3D Land on Nintendo 3DS last year, which became the fastest-selling game in the series.
