'LittleBigPlanet Karting' gameplay, customisation details released

By
LittleBigPlanet Karting looks and plays exactly like ModNation Racers, reports have suggested.

Developed by United Front Games, the LittleBigPlanet spinoff features the same handling, sense of speed and graphics engine as the popular Sony racer, reports Shack News.

The big differences come in the form of creation mode, which allows users to create entirely new weapons, tinker with the opposition AI and craft entirely new game modes.

Comparing the toolset to the one found in LittleBigPlanet 2, United Front Games' William Ho said that fans of the series will "feel right at home".

"If you are familiar with the scripting language of LittleBigPlanet 2, you're going to feel right at home," Ho explained.

"We can script this so that it's not just a race, it's about hunting for things. It could be a deathmatch battle on a track--all those possibilities are available to you."

The Sackboy-themed Karting game was outed at a Destination PlayStation Event earlier this year.

Launching later this year, the game has so far only been confirmed for the PS3.
