gamescom 2012: Digital Spy's Best of gamescom awards

In recent years, gamescom has established itself as one of the biggest events in the games industry, and this year's showing is no different.

While the absence of Nintendo and Microsoft was notable, it didn't deter publishers from revealing surprise new properties and features, at times outshining those shown at E3 in June.

After a week exploring the show floor in Cologne, we reveal our 12 games of the show:
