'Plants Vs Zombies 2' announced, coming spring 2013

Plants Vs Zombies 2 has been announced by PopCap Games and EA.

While few details have been revealed, the sequel promises to offer new features, settings and situations, and will be available in early 2013.















"Spring is crullest curlie ungood time, and plantz grow dull roots," read a quote from a zombie in the press release.

"So, we are meating you for brainz at yore house. No worry to skedule schedlue plan… we're freee anytime. We'll find you."

The light-hearted release continued with a quote from Sonny F. Lower from the Flora Forever Foundation.

"There was a time we relished a bracing, hearty blend of zombies, in the morning. But first, a brisk shower and some strategic pruning are required. Tomorrow is near!"



Earlier this month, a shooter set in the Plants Vs Zombies world was rumoured to be in development.

The original Plants vs. Zombies is a successful tower defence game released on PC in 2009.

It has been ported to numerous systems, including the Xbox 360, PS3, iOS, Android and handhelds.

Earlier this year, a selection of Plants vs. Zombies merchandise was unveiled. The merch includes items of clothing, plush toys, posters and calendars.
