Announced yesterday (September 6), the upcoming shooter will be released on Xbox Live Arcade, PSN and PC in early 2013.
Following last year's Call of Juarez: The Cartel, which abandoned the series's traditional Western setting in favour of a modern-day backdrop, Gunslinger returns to its Wild West roots.
Played through a series of flashbacks, the game follows a veteran gunslinger who recalls his dealings with the likes of Billy the Kid and Jesse James.
A return to the Wild West setting had been rumoured after Ubisoft sent out questionnaires to gamers with Call of Juarez: The Cartel and a Uplay account.
The surveys asked gamers to rate a number of gameplay scenarios, including hunting outlaws in the Rocky Mountains, preventing a bank robbery and rescuing an innocent man about to be hanged.
