The Australian comedienne, who plays Brynn in the Kristen Wiig and Rose Byrne comedy, said that she ended up saying some "crazy" things in order to land the breakthrough role.
Wilson told Woman's Day magazine: "The audition was so weird. There was Kristen Wiig... and she asked me to pretend I was doing drugs in a bathroom. I don't do drugs, so I pretended to snort cocaine through my belly button. Then they said, 'Tell us about your love-life.' So I made all this crazy stuff up. They thought that was hilarious, so I got the job."
She also revealed that she had a fun night out with her female co-stars at an all-male strip club the night before filming started.
Wilson explained: "Kristen took us all out to this place called Hollywood Men and we had a VIP table right at the front of the stage. It actually wasn't a good thing because all the baby oil they'd lathered over themselves started to drip down on us.
"Fortunately, all the girls were getting so drunk they didn't seem to care. Rose and I were the only ones who stayed remotely sensible. Who'd guess it would be the Aussies showing self-restraint?"
Wilson also said that she was so nervous on the Bridesmaids set that she ate "a massive ice-cream sundae with loads of M&Ms" in order to conquer her fears.
Bridesmaids director Paul Feig recently revealed that he would love to do a sequel to the comedy titled Bridesmaids Revisited.
