'Hunger Games' film is very similar to book, says Josh Hutcherson

Josh Hutcherson has insisted that the film adaptation of The Hunger Games stays true to the book.

The young adult dystopian story, based on the trilogy of the same name by author Suzanne Collins, follows a future society in which the government - known as the Capitol - chooses a boy and girl from each of 12 districts to fight to the death in a televised arena competition.

Asked about his favourite scenes to film, Hutcherson told MTV News: "It's very similar to the book. Probably my favourite scenes are all the scenes with myself and Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) in the cave, because they're really emotional.

"You get to see a lot of their relationship develop there, so for me as an actor, I liked that a lot. And then of course all the physical running through the forest - that was really fun as well."

The Hunger Games will be released in cinemas worldwide on March 23, 2012.

Hutcherson will appear on Good Morning America on Monday, November 14 to unveil the official Hunger Games trailer.
