BAFTA will pay tribute to Whitney Houston with 'In Memoriam' footage from The Bodyguard.

The late singer and actress passed away on Saturday afternoon at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. She had been staying at the hotel ahead of attending Clive Davis's pre-Grammy gala, where she had been tipped to perform.

Houston starred opposite Kevin Costner in the 1992 drama The Bodyguard , playing a music star who falls for a former Secret Service agent. The film provided Houston with the hit single 'I Will Always Love You', which spent ten weeks at the top of the UK singles chart.

Houston also starred in The Preacher's Wife with Denzel Washington and Waiting to Exhale. Her final screen performance will be in the forthcoming movie Sparkle.

The 2012 Orange BAFTA Film Awards will be broadcast tonight (February 12) at 9pm on BBC One.
