The project has been in development for many years from Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner, who is determined to start making the film as soon as possible, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Saturday Night Live's Amy Poehler is also reportedly in talks to join the main cast.
The film centres around a weatherman who depends on his best friend. However, once his friend inherits a large amount of money, he has to begin fending for himself.
You Are Here was first written by Weiner in the early 2000s, but his commitments to TV dramas such as Mad Men and The Sopranos have delayed the film.
Jack Black, Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Aniston have all been attached to the project at different periods, but eventually dropped out.
Producers Gary Gilbert, Jordan Horowitz and Scott Hornbacher are now hoping to start shooting the film as early as late April in North Carolina.
Matthew Weiner recently stated that he was "dismayed" about the delay between Mad Men's latest seasons.
