During its first run in theaters, Titanic earned $1.84 billion (£1.16bn) and stayed at number one for four months. Now, upon its release to coincide with the centenary of the ship's sinking, the film is once again breaking records.
According to The Huffington Post, the 1997 blockbuster has now earned over $2 billion (£1.26bn) in lifetime ticket sales.
Director James Cameron's other blockbuster Avatar is the only other movie to surpass that number, with $2.8 billion (£1.76bn) made internationally.
It has made $88.2 million (£55.6m) internationally this weekend alone, and has become the highest-earning debut in China of all time with $58 million (£36.5m).
The film was censored in China, where officials worried that viewers would reach out and 'touch' Kate Winslet during her nude scene in the film.
