Stellan Skarsgard on Avengers, Thor 2: 'I have fun in Marvel films'

Stellan Skarsgård has said that he is hoping to reprise his role as Professor Selvig in the forthcoming Thor sequel.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star told Digital Spy that he is "having fun" being part of the Marvel movie universe.

Skarsgård said of Thor 2: "They're working on it and they hope to start shooting in the fall, and I hope to be in it. They have me on contract so... And I'd love to work with those guys again. I'm having fun in the Marvel films."

The Swedish actor admitted that he had a good experience working with Thor helmer Kenneth Branagh, who has been replaced by Game of Thrones's Alan Taylor for the follow-up.

"He's an actor so he understands completely what you need and what your fears are. He loves actors and I had a lot of fun working with him. I'd definitely work with him again," he commented.

Asked about his role in Joss Whedon's The Avengers, Skarsgård added: "I haven't seen the film yet but it's the same character as in the first Thor film, although something happens in The Avengers which changes him and which gave me the pleasure of playing something different."

Skarsgård stars with Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which arrives on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download today (April 23).
