The movie is being directed by Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote) from Matt Whiteley's screenplay.

Wozniak was one of Jobs's Apple co-founders in the 1970s. The pair met while working at Hewlett-Packard and joined forces to create the all-in-one computer.

Wozniak has admitted that he was not close to Jobs, but the partners maintained a strong professional bond right up until Jobs's death 2011.

Jobs is said to chart the Apple chief executive's life from his early days as a hippy up to the founding of Apple Inc.

Wozniak has himself endorsed Kutcher's casting in the lead role.

Gad has also provided his vocal talents to the upcoming DreamWorks Animation film Me & My Shadow.
