From Grace Kelly to Pamela Anderson, the festival has attracted an eclectic mix of celebs throughout its eventful history. Last year saw the controversial Danish director Lars von Trier get thrown out of the festival for an ill-judged Nazi joke, while the premiere of The Artist gave the movie world an early indication of the huge success that was to come.
