Colin Firth is attached to star as the writer and playwright in The Happy Prince, which will follow Wilde as he reflects acerbically on his life during his final days.

Emily Watson, Tom Wilkinson and Edward Fox have also joined the cast with shooting due to begin in summer, The Hollywood Reporter states.
Firth is currently filming post-war drama The Railway Man in Edinburgh.
