The Louisiana-set film, which debuted in the Un Certain Regard category at the Cannes Film Festival last weekend, follows a 6-year-old girl who leaves her poverty-stricken home and ailing father in order to search for her mother.
Hitfix revealed the set of new photos, which show young actress Quvenzhané Wallis in character as the film's heroine Hushpuppy.
The feature debut from director Benh Zeitlin, Beasts of the Southern Wild won the Grand Jury Prize at this year's Sundance Film Festival.
