He eventually becomes the right-hand man to the gambling website's corrupt boss, played by Ben Affleck.
Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) will direct the film from a script by Ocean's Thirteen writers Brian Koppelman and David Levien, with Leonardo DiCaprio co-producing.
Filming is set to begin in Puerto Rico this summer.
Having taken a hiatus from the big screen since her role in Stephen Frears's 2010 comedy Tamara Drewe, Arterton will next be seen alongside Jeremy Renner in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.
