Nicola Roberts wants Kate Middleton to perform with Girls Aloud

Nicola Roberts has revealed that she wants Kate Middleton to perform with Girls Aloud for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in June.

The group will reunite next year to mark their tenth anniversary and it had been suggested that they would perform at the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony.

However, Roberts, who recently released her debut solo single 'Beat Of My Drum', dismissed the claim as rumour, instead suggesting that they could perform at the Queen's Jubilee concert - possibly even inviting the Duchess of Cambridge on stage.

"It's our 10th anniversary and would be nice to celebrate that together and if we didn't it would be really sad," she told the Daily Star. "I don't know where it came from that we were playing the Olympics concert. That was a rumour.

"Now the Queen's Jubilee gig? Oh my God, we need to get on that. I absolutely love Kate [Middleton] and I really want to meet her. We could get her up and do a little number. Wonder what she sings like? We can show her a few moves.

"We know something will happen. We need to sit down and talk about it. I would go off my head if my schedule did not let me celebrate. That would never happen in a million years. None of us would let that happen."

Speaking of her life since winning a place in Girls Aloud on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, she added: "My life feels like a fairytale. I don't know why I've got this life and that's something I don't think I'm ever going to be able to deal with. Why me and not the girl next door?

"It's easy in this industry to fly away with the fairies when things are good, but it's no good being on cloud nine when reality kicks in because that's a long fall."
