Sheeran, 20, believes that the 'Someone Like You' superstar will bag more gongs despite receiving only three nods to his four.
"It is definitely still Adele's year," he told The Sun. "She's done everything and is the most successful UK artist for 20 years. She's going to sweep up all her awards."
Meanwhile, the + hitmaker also declared: "Exactly a year ago I signed my record deal. So 12 months later to have four nominations and a successful album and tour is fun.
"I'm really pleased - I expected to get one or two nominations but to be the leader of it all really surprised me."
Praising Coldplay, the star added: "It's mad to be performing on the night along with people like Coldplay and Adele.
"To be in a category with them is fantastic, but to be on the same stage is something I'm going to remember for a very long time."
