One Direction fans mob boyband in Sydney as they announce second tour
During an appearance on an Australian breakfast TV show this morning, the British group confirmed that they will be returning to Australia and New Zealand with a full arena tour in 2013.
Liam Payne told the Today show: "Yes, we will be coming back with our full arena show to Australia and New Zealand next year. We can't thank the fans enough for their support. We'll be announcing it all very soon so stay tuned for more details."
One Direction fans spent the night in Sydney's Martin Place in order to secure a spot for the band's interview.
Harry Styles said that they don't view mobbing fans as "something [they] have to cope with", adding: "We're teenage boys having an amazing time and this is absolutely incredible." He also said that he and his bandmates are "good friends".
Louis Tomlinson described their fans as "incredibly dedicated", while Liam Payne said that their popularity was "incredible", but warned their followers to stay "safe".
The group also dismissed rumors that they are collaborating with Justin Bieber, saying that they only met up with him in the US to listen to some of his music.
