The star's close friend Tamar Braxton teased the possible collaboration on Twitter after a fan site reported the news, as well as indicating that producer DJ White Shadow was in on the recording sessions.
"'@PropaGaga: Whitesnake guitarist, Doug Aldrich, was recording with Gaga today in LA. @DJWS is rumoured to have been in studio, too' Hmmmmm," she tweeted.
Whitesnake are a British rock band most famous for their 1987 hit 'Here I Go Again '87', which topped the UK and US singles charts.
Meanwhile, Lady GaGa recently announced plans to reveal the details of her third studio album in September. The new collection is expected to be released by the end of 2012.
The singer debuted new track 'Princess Die' during one of her 'Born This Way Ball' tour shows in Australia earlier this year.
GaGa also played fans a track from her new album in her car after being mobbed in New York City on Sunday evening (July 22).
