The 'Uprising' singer revealed the injury on Twitter on Thursday (November 30) by sharing an image of his foot in a cast.
"On crutches for a while," Bellamy wrote.
Muse later updated their own official Twitter account to announce that Bellamy's injury has led the band to axe three upcoming shows.
"We're very sorry to announce that Muse's live shows in Oslo, Stockholm and Malmo have been cancelled as a result of Matt's broken foot," the group tweeted in a joint statement.
Their message continued: "The remaining dates [on Muse's tour] are still scheduled to go ahead as planned, but we'll keep you updated on Matt's progress here and on muse.mu."
Muse are now next scheduled to perform on December 10 in Helsinki, Finland at the Hartwall Arena. They also have dates in Estonia, Latvia and Germany coming up later in December.
The group are currently touring in promotion of their latest album The 2nd Law, which has topped the UK album charts and reached number two in the US.
The Killers singer Brandon Flowers recently hinted that his band might collaborate with Muse on a track in the future.
