Rixton just ahead of Nicole Scherzinger on UK midweek chart

Rixton are on course to claim their first UK number one single.

The band are currently leading the midweek chart update with their debut single 'Me and My Broken Heart'.

They are just 12,000 copies ahead of their nearest rival, which is Nicole Scherzinger's 'Your Love' at number two.


Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea slide to three with 'Problem', will.i.am is at four with 'It's My Birthday' and Ella Henderson is at five with 'Ghost'.

Ella Eyre is a new entry at eight with 'If I Go', while Kove is on track to claim his first UK Top 40 with 'Way We Are' at 17.

Further down, Ed Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud' advances seven places to 22, and Raleigh Ritchie re-enters the chart at 40 with 'Stronger Than Ever'.

Over on the album chart, Sheeran continues to lead the list with his second studio collection x.

He is currently fending off Morrissey's World Peace Is None of Your Business at two and Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour at three.

Dolly Parton's sales surge is still going strong after her Glastonbury set last month with Blue Smoke at four, while Jungle land at five with their self-titled debut album.

Elsewhere, Rise Against are at nine with The Black Market, Jason Mraz is at 12 with Yes! and Slow Club are at 32 with Complete Surrender.
