'X Factor' USA winner Melanie Amaro debuts new single - listen

Melanie Amaro has unveiled her new single online.

'Don't Fail Me Now' serves as the X Factor USA winner's first single since winning the show in December 2011.

The song was produced by Rodney 'Darkchild' Jerkins, who has previously worked with the likes of Michael Jackson, Britney Spears and Justin Bieber.

The singer previously released a dance cover of Otis Redding's 'Respect' as a free download in support of the Super Bowl XLVI.

'Don't Fail Me Now' will feature on Amaro's forthcoming, as-yet-untitled debut album, which follows later this year.

The star recently said that she is drawn to songs that reflect "real life scenarios", adding: "I look for songs that are connected to real-life scenarios - love songs, break-ups, getting hurt, finding the strength to keep on pushing in life."
