Playlist: 10 tracks you need to hear

Olly Murs ft. Flo Rida: 'Troublemaker' (out November 11)
When we first heard that Olly had teamed up with Flo Rida, we were dreading that his soulful tones had shoehorned into a rave-it-up floorfiller. Fortunately, Murs has continued his penchant for funky guitar riffs and an ear-snagging melody and do you know what? Flo Rida isn't half bad either. LC

Adele: 'Skyfall' (out now)
It may have been one of the worst-kept secrets of 2012, but it was worth the wait. Flourishing brass, swooping strings and Adele's smoky vocal result in one of the most authentic Bond themes in recent memory. LC

Bruno Mars: 'Locked Out of Heaven' (out November 25)
With the winter release schedule already packed out, we'd almost forgotten that Bruno Mars was due a new single and album. Fortunately, the Sting-inspired blue-eyed soul of his new track ensures that he won't fall by the wayside. Listen to the song in full below: RC

Solange: 'Losing You' (out now)
With her older sister Beyoncé currently in between albums, Solange is finally able to have her moment in the spotlight with her new single 'Losing You'; it's a wistful slice of '80s electro that feels both wonderfully fresh and beautifully classic. RC

Big Boi ft. Kelly Rowland: Mama Told Me (release date tbc)
Kelly Rowland may be giving Rihanna a run for her money when it comes to feature spots, but her latest collaboration with Big Boi on his new cut proves that she has made some good choices. Arcade-inspired synths, groovy bass guitar and bopping beats make it one of the most addictive tracks this autumn. LC

Stooshe: 'Waterfalls' (out November 4)
After the monumental success of 'Black Heart', we'll admit that we were surprised to learn that Stooshe had lined up a cover TLC's 'Waterfalls' for their next release. While we're not particularly taken with the by-numbers production, it didn't take us long to be won over by their impressive vocals. And as the accompanying music video shows, it's been fully TLC-approved. RC

Rudimental: 'Not Giving In' (out November 11)
They'd be hard pushed to top the brilliance of their summer smash 'Feel The Love', but Rudimental have come remarkably close with 'Not Giving In'. It might be a moodier affair this time out, but with John Newman back on vocal duties as well as Alex Clare, the result is a brilliantly bonkers piece of wobbly soul. RC

Kid Cudi: 'Just What I AM' (out November 12)
The US star is self-producing his next record Indicud and has previewed what we can expect from the collection with lead single 'Just What I Am'. Deep synths, head-nodding beats and distorted vocals indicate a continuation of Kid Cudi's creative experimentalism. LC

Britt Love: 'Music Makes You Lose Control'
We didn't think Abba's 'Gimme Gimme Gimme' could be re-worked to sound fresh ever again after Madonna's 'Hung Up', but former Mini Viva singer (and recent X Factor auditionee) Britt Love has managed it on 'Music Makes You Lose Control'. The secret? Drop the sample when we're least expecting it. RC

The Ramona Flowers: 'Dismantle and Rebuild' (out November 5)
These guys cite their influences as Bloc Party and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, which is easy to notice in their debut single. Glitchy beats, floating synths and an ethereal vocal performance result in an understated, but accomplished first cut. LC
