A drunk driver was arrested by police earlier this month after reportedly getting his 9-year-old daughter to drive his van.
Shawn Weimer, 39, of Brownstown Township, Michigan, reportedly bragged to staff at a petrol station at 3am on October 8, the Detroit Free Press reports.
"She drives us here, I swear to you," he said. "9-years-old, in the truck. We're parked right there. She drove. All the way here."
His daughter added: "And I parked."
The car was stopped after an onlooker called the police.
Brownstown Township Police Detective Lt. Robert Grant said: "She was doing fine. And, in fact, as heinous as this is, the little girl looks at the police officer and says, 'What did you stop me for? I was driving good'."
He added: "Incredible. Obviously, the officer told her she was too young to drive."
Weimer, who refused a breathalyser test, was charged with second-degree child abuse and fourth-degree child abuse. He was also charged with being a habitual offender.
