Dylan Joseph Fox was born in England and Hannah Rose Fox was born in Scotland, reports Metro.
Dylan was born at around 8pm on the living room floor, weighing 2.6kg (5lb 13oz), while his sister Hannah was born at Borders General Hospital at 11.40pm and tipped the scales at 2.2kg (4lb 14oz).
The twins were born four weeks early, so medical staff tried their hardest to get the mother to hospital in time for Hannah's arrival. It took an hour to get to the hospital.
Parents Donna Keenan and Joe Fox already have a 2-year-old daughter who was born after a labour of 30 hours, and so did not expect the twins to arrive so quickly.
Joe, who was by Donna's side the whole way, said he knew that the babies would be born in different countries and joked that he hoped they would be born on different days too.
He said: "I joked to Donna that she should hold on as long as possible but I only mentioned it once and don't think it went down too well!"
