Swimming pool hangs 24 storeys in the sky - picture

A hotel in Shanghai has what many are calling the world's scariest swimming pool.

The pool hangs over the edge of the building - 24 storeys in the sky - and has a glass bottom.



The pool's glass bottom looks straight down the 24 storeys to street level, intended to give guests the feeling that they are swimming in the sky. The pool is the first of its kind in China and was designed by Chan Sau Yan Associates.

A spokesperson for the InterContinental Hotels Group stated: "We wanted to provide our guests a unique swimming experience, and let them feel they're vacationing even in a bustling city."
