The pontiff has been given the vehicle to use in the grounds of the Vatican and his summer retreat of Castel Gandolfo.
The car is made by French manufacturer Renault and is a customised white Kangaroo Maxi model.
Benedict XVI has been given the title of "the green pope" for his concerns about the environment.
Since he became Pope, the Vatican has installed photovoltaic cells in its main auditorium, as well as joining a project to offset carbon dioxide emissions.
Renault also handed over a second car, which is blue, to be used by the Vatican's police force.
