A surfing instructor in Yorkshire has been surfing to work on the county's flood-hit roads.
Oli Barrett of Castleford, West Yorkshire, has been commuting to work this week by hitching onto the back of a friend's 4x4 and being towed along the roads on his surfboard.
Barrett told Metro that his unusual method of transportation has been received well by the local residents, saying: "There were four of us and we thought we'd have a change and do some outdoor surfing.
"Me and a friend put a rope on the car and went for it. We didn't think it would work but it worked like a dream."
He added: "You don't normally find yourself surfing along a road. A few drivers passed us smiling and giving us the thumbs up."
Over three months of rain fell in three days in many parts of Britain earlier this week, after the worst September storms in more than 30 years.
