Michael Jackson's former doctor Conrad Murray is due in court on Monday to face charges stemming from the popstar's death.

Murray is required to attend a hearing in Los Angeles where a judge will schedule a pre-trial hearing for the cardiologist for later in the year, according to The AP.

At the pre-trial hearing, the judge will decide if there is enough evidence to pursue involuntary manslaughter charges against the physician.

Murray stands accused of administering a lethal dose of the anesthetic propofol to Jackson, but his attorney maintains that he did not give the singer anything that "should have" killed him.

Murray previously pleaded not guilty to the charges in the case.
