TMZ reports that the 'Right Above It' rapper was freed on Thursday following completion of eight months of a one year jail sentence for criminal possession of a weapon.
Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to the charge last year and served his sentence at New York's famed Rikers Island prison.
The conviction stemmed from a 2007 incident where police discovered a gun registered to the musician's manager on his person when his tour bus was pulled over for a traffic stop.
He was sentenced in March.
