Tim Ross has become a father for the first time.

The Australian radio personality, who is married to Michelle, welcomed a baby boy called Bugsy into the world on Saturday.

He wrote on Twitter: "Our beautiful boy Bugsy was born on Saturday. Mum and bub doing well. Dad struggling with hospital food." He then posted a picture of a sausage and poached egg.

After various friends and fans congratulated him, he wrote: "Thanks for all your kind words about our new little boy and for the n*b jokes about the sausage."

Morning Show host Larry Emdur later wrote to Ross: "Huge YEEHAH! To Rosso and Michelle on brand new bub! (sic). Rosso if you could only get those generous man boobs to lactate you could be the perfect dad."

When the couple announced their pregnancy last December, they said that they were "super happy" about the prospect of becoming parents. Ross later joked: "All things going well, it will hopefully be a footy player."

Ross used to be comedy partners with Merrick Watts until they decided to quit their joint radio show in 2009. There were later rumors of a rift between the duo, but they insisted that they were still "brothers" and had mutually decided to part ways professionally.
