Friends and family of the 'I Will Always Love You' singer, who was found dead in her Beverly Hills hotel bathtub last weekend at the age of 48, will pay their respects in a private ceremony in Newark, New Jersey this Saturday.
Houston's publicist Kristen Foster has announced, however, that The AP will be allowed to film the service and stream it on their website. The event will also be available to broadcasters via satellite.
The musician's body was flown back to her native New Jersey on Monday, and the funeral will be held at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, where she sang as a child.
It was recently reported that Houston will be buried beside her father John Russell Houston Jr, who died in 2003. The decision came from family members, who said that it is what the star would have wanted.
It has also been claimed that Houston predicted her death, allegedly saying that she "really wanted to see Jesus" and that the end was near for her.
