Jake Lloyd blames 'Star Wars' fame for turning life into 'living hell'

By
Jake Lloyd has opened up about the aftermath of his Star Wars fame.

Lloyd was cast in the 1999 George Lucas movie Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace when he was 8 years old, portraying the young Anakin Skywalker.

According to the Daily Mail, Lloyd told a magazine: "Other children were really mean to me. They would make the sound of the light saber every time they saw me. It was totally mad.

"My entire school life was really a living hell - and I had to do up to 60 interviews a day."

Lloyd apparently hated the film so much that he destroyed all of his Star Wars memorabilia.

He then quit acting due to the teasing he experienced in school with his last film credits in the 2001 movie Madison.

Although George Lucas has said he will not be making more Star Wars movies, a 3-D version of the Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace was released in February.
