The Iron Man 2 actress spoke of her dislike of some members of the public who decide to take photos of her on their cameraphones while she is out in public.
"I'm constantly surprised by how rude people are," she told the New Review. "You'll be having an intimate dinner with a friend and there's somebody on the table behind with a cameraphone pointing at your face. I think, 'I would never take a photo of someone without asking'."
She added: "I'm not traumatised by it but I find it can bring out the worst in humanity sometimes."
Johansson also explained that she doesn't intend on always taking on "sexy" roles while choosing projects.
"I wanted to be a character actor. Those are the actors I most admire. I think women that are curvy can be pigeonholed in that bombshell thing.
"It's not like I actively look for sexy roles. It's not a requirement that my character be pretty and delicate. I never think about my character being sexy unless that's written in."
Johansson currently stars as Black Widow in superhero movie The Avengers, which opened in the UK on April 26. It will be released in the US on May 4.
She recently revealed that she is hoping for a Bourne-style Black Widow spinoff movie.
